It started out as a request to play the beer gardens and maybe invite another band if "it wasn't too much trouble" ... Never leave an open ended request like that in front of a renovator, welder, record producer and a business man and then expect things to stay small -lol
We are still finalizing the times and order so chek back soon, when we'll update the events page with bios, pictures and such. For now here's a quick list below: (See bio and pics page)
Like we said, most of these groups have records, and the bands will also have other merchandise available, so bring some cash to help support the independent music community. The days of excessive rock star lifestyles are over for all but a few, and many times live shows and merchandise sales are how musicians are paying the bills. The good news is we now have a chance to see music grow at the roots level without a record company executive deciding if we get to hear it or not.
Alberta has always been about selfmade men and women so come on out and see what is happening in the local music scene, many of you will be pleasantly surprised at the level of talent. You may even get a chance to say " I saw them before they were big". Rembember, even the Beatles and Stones were undiscovered acts at one time, and both were turned down by mulitple record companies before someone saw the light!!!
winner of the best named band of 2009
and man can they play well!!
But grown men can still rock like they're 15
just for 15 minutes at a time though :-)!!
A long time 1 Foot fan turned 50, and his wife wanted to "surprise" him. He caught on when 4 guys and a PA system pulled into the driveway the day of his party, but he and everyone else had great time!
